Who can be an asylum seeker in Spain? The Law regulating the Right of Asylum and Subsidiary Protection provides the answer to this question:
- They can apply for asylum: NON-EU nationals or stateless persons who are recognized as refugees. So, ANYONE (except those who have European nationality), can apply for asylum in Spain.
- In order to be granted, you must demonstrate that, due to FOUND Fears of, race, religion, nationality, political opinions, membership of a particular social group, gender or sexual orientationyou are outside the country of your nationality and are unable or, BECAUSE of such fears, DO NOT want to avail yourself of the PROTECTION OF SUCH COUNTRY.
