Are you in the asylum process and want to change your status? or Have you already been denied?

It is not always possible to change the status of Stay from that of an Application for International Protection to that of Residence in Spanish territory.

These are some alternatives that you can pursue during your asylum process or after your asylum denial:

  • Residence by Relative of EU Citizen: the most common example is if you marry or become a common-law partner of a person who has a European Nationality.
  • Arraigo Social: Three years in Spain and an employment contract.
  • Arraigo Familiar: That you have a child with Spanish nationality, that you are the child of a native Spaniard.
  • Rootedness by Formation: To have been in Eso for two years and to commit to a study or training program.
  • Residency for Humanitarian Reasons: granted to some Venezuelan citizens at the time of denial of their asylum petition.
  • Refugees: when you are granted Asylum.
  • Arraigo Laboral: You can apply for it after two years of being in Spain, as long as you have contributed six months to the second social security system and AFTER the asylum denial.

Whenever you start a migration process, evaluate the alternatives you will have and what you need to reach your goal. That will make you a successful migrant.
