Did you know that you have the possibility to have your university degree recognized in Spain?
When it comes to working in Spain with a degree obtained abroad, it is essential to know the procedures for homologation, equivalence and validation. These processes not only ensure official recognition of your academic credentials, but also allow you to access professional opportunities within the country. In this blog, we will provide you with a detailed and up-to-date overview of how to carry out these procedures, ensuring that your educational experience is respected and recognized in the Spanish environment.

Types of Recognition of University Degrees
- CONVALIDATION: Validation is ideal for those who wish to complete their education in Spain. This process allows Spanish universities to evaluate and recognize subjects taken abroad so that you can complete your studies in Spain.
- EQUIVALENCE: Equivalency focuses on those professions that are not regulated by the Spanish state, such as administration and journalism. It is vital to ensure that your academic level is recognized, especially for those seeking to enter the public sector or certain private companies.
- APPROVAL: Homologation is essential for regulated professions that require an official Spanish title to be able to practice in the national territory. This process has been simplified according to Royal Decree 889/2022, in force since November 2022, which promised to reduce the waiting time for resolution to only six months.

Approval Procedure
Royal Decree 889/2022, of October 18, established a new procedure for the homologation and equivalence of foreign university degrees in Spain, which came into effect on November 8, 2022. This new process sought to expedite the resolutions, promising to resolve the files in just 6 months.
